Breaking Barriers Together: A Guide to Engaging Men in Gender-Based Violence Prevention
$90.00
Description
This module provides a strong case on why it is important to engage and mobilize men in gender-based violence prevention. It also highlights key barriers impeding men’s participation while also offering 13 pragmatic tips to overcome these challenges, with an emphasis on the importance of framing calls to action that are strength-based.
This module was developed to support practitioners, policy makers and advocates who have become interested in working with men to advance violence prevention. It will be of interest to people getting started in their work with men and want to apply research-based practices to their approach.
By the end of this module, participants will better understand:
- The case for why we need to work and engage men in our violence prevention and gender justice efforts,
- Key barriers identified by men that are preventing their participation in these efforts,
- 13 evidence-informed tips on effective ways to work with men, and
- How framing our calls to action matter especially in our initial engagement efforts with men.
The module takes up to 60 minutes to complete, and we want to thank YOU for investing your time to learning how to engage men to stop violence before it starts.
Thank you to Women and Gender Equality Canada for their funding to support the development of this module.
